Welcome to Congregation Beth Shalom
Congregation Beth Shalom has been a home for Jewish life in Linden Hollow since 1952. We are a Conservative synagogue of about 340 households, rooted in tradition and open to everyone who walks through our doors. Whether you grew up in a shul or are exploring Judaism for the first time, there is a seat for you here.
Shabbat at Beth Shalom
Shabbat is the heart of our week. Join us Friday evenings at 6:15 pm for Kabbalat Shabbat, a joyful service of song led by Cantor David Abramov. On Saturday mornings, services begin at 9:30 am and close with a Kiddush lunch where everyone is welcome to stay and talk.
Our prayer books include English translation and transliteration. You can follow along, sing, or simply listen.
What You Will Find Here
- Shabbat and holiday services led by Rabbi Miriam Kessler and Cantor Abramov
- A Hebrew school for children in kindergarten through seventh grade
- Thoughtful b'nai mitzvah preparation for students and their families
- Adult learning, from Tuesday evening Torah study to beginning Hebrew
- A chesed committee that brings meals, rides, and company to members in need
A Community for Every Family
Our members include families who have belonged for three generations, young couples, single adults, retirees, and many interfaith families. A synagogue grows stronger when it welcomes the whole household. Partners who are not Jewish take part in our services, our classes, and our committees.
We came for one Friday night and never left. People learned our names on the first visit.
